Claude E. Cooke, Jr. has been an active expert and speaker on the subject of hydraulic fracturing. His most recent presentation is titled “Breaking Through Fact and Fiction: “Fracking” and the Shale Revolution”, and was delivered at the March 22, 2013 meeting of the Metroplex Technology Business Council in Dallas, TX. In his talk, Dr. Cooke addresses the history of hydraulic fracturing including the original inventors and associated intellectual property, the growth of the technology’s importance over the last ~10 years, the basic theory behind the technology and its application today, and a high-level look into environmental issues surrounding the use of the technology.
